07.2. For the roles for which you have RI oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

The Global CEO/CIO has oversight responsibility for responsible investment for the Firm as a whole and ensures implementation. The CEO/CIO leads the Global Executive Committee and Global CIO Council, as well as chairing the Global Investment Committee.

The Global Chief Operating Officer has oversight responsibility for responsible investment for the Firm as a whole and ensures implementation. The COO is on the Global Executive Committee, the Global Investment Committee, and Global Responsible Investment Management Committee. He is an ex officio member of the Regional Risk Committees and the executive sponsor of the People and Culture Advisory Committee.

Portfolio Managers have responsibility for oversight and accountability for ESG factors being reviewed as part of the acquisition due diligence process, ESG incorporation in the management of assets in the portfolio and communication of ESG matters to investors.

Investment analysts support ESG implementation during acquisition due diligence and the management of the assets. Asset Managers ensure implementation at the properties they manage, working with and overseeing third-party property manager activities. 

External property managers are responsible for day-to-day implementation of ESG measurement, reporting and programs.

Although we do not have dedicated responsible investment staff, over 22 of our professionals  (3% of all employees) have some responsibility for ESG leadership within their regions and teams. Five professionals serve on the Global Responsible Investment Management Committee ("Global RIMCo"), which is comprised of senior leadership and other selected company professionals with demonstrated expertise or current responsibility for ESG-related activities or impacted by ESG matters. The Global RIMCo is accountable for implementing, governing and further developing ESG initiatives. The Firm has designated the COO of EMEA as the Global Head of ESG/Responsible Investment. He leads the Global RIMCo, leads ESG initiatives and provides ongoing guidance on ESG matters to investment team members. An additional 17 individuals will serve on the regional and indirect Responsible Investment Management ("RIM") committees with representatives from investment teams who will be managing ESG activities. Representatives from the Global RIMCo may serve on regional RIM committees to provide investor and market ESG requirements and share best practices.

External property managers have responsibility for the implementation of ESG initiatives as well as measurement and reporting of ESG factors.

A member of the Investor Services team serves on the Global RIMCo and Regional RIM committee and accountable for communication of ESG-related information in RFPs and other related material, as well as being involved in disclosure of our ESG-related activity via the CBRE Corporate Responsibility Report, GRESB and PRI.

Being a division of a public company, we do not have a direct Board. However, the Board of CBRE is very concerned about ESG issues.

There are over 22 people across the global platform that have specific responsibility for ESG matters serving on a responsible investment management committee. Additional fund or separate account team members have responsibility for ESG matters for the assets they manage, GRESB reporting, responding to ESG questionnaires or PRI reporting.
