Confédération Française Démocratique du Travail (CFDT)
The French Democratic Confederation of Labour (CFDT) is a national trade union center, one of the five major French confederations of trade unions, led since 2012 by Laurent Berger. It is the largest French trade union confederation by number of members (875,000) but comes only second in voting results for representative bodies.
The CFDT’s past has been built on the use of independence and solidarity as instruments for defending workers. It has created the bases for a new social contract founded on democracy and self-management. With independence of action as a guiding principle.
