In its role as a member of Swiss Sustainable Finance, in 2016, Vontobel contributed to the "Handbook on Sustainable Investments". Vontobel's Corporate Sustainability Manager is a member of the SSF working group "Private Wealth Management". A representative of Vontobel is a member of the Work Group "Private Wealth Management".

Italian Staff takes part in work groups of Forum per la Finanza Sostenibile.

As a member of the Climate Foundation Switzerland, we donate a significant portion of our re-distributed CO2 levies to the foundation which then uses these funds to support climate protection projects at small and medium-sized Swiss enterprises. In 2016, projects supported by the Climate Foundation included a scheme to produce vegetable carbon, a reusable system for takeaway food containers and a method to identify leaks in gas pipes more rapidly. These projects also have a positive impact on economic growth and help to enhance the efficiency of the Swiss economy.

Vontobel's Corporate Sustainability Manager is member of the Advisory Board of the Climate Foundation Switzerland of and the Head of Corporate Responsibility & Sponsoring is a member of the Board of Trustees.

The head of the Vontobel Sustainable Investing Boutique is a board member of öbu.

          Vontobel supported the preparation of a master thesis on "Robustness of Sustainable Investments" (MSc Quantitative Finance, University of Zurich / ETH Zurich)

Vontobel considers it important to promote a sustainable approach to finance and to actively participate in a dialogue on this topic. Reflecting this commitment, representatives of Vontobel Asset Management gave presentations or took part in panel discussions at the following events in 2016: Impact Forum, Berlin; “Nachhaltige Geldanlagen 2016” conference, Frankfurt; 8th Annual Southeast Asia Institutional Investment Forum, Singapore; Zürcher Debatte 2016 (The Foundation); Governance & Responsible Investment Conference, London; GreenBuzz, Zurich.

In 2016, Vontobel Asset Management published an article in the ESG magazine as well as further dedicated investment publications.

Vontobel employees regularly present at conferences and in university or business school courses on sustainable investments. The activities carried out as members of Swiss Sustainable Finance, Sustainable Finance Geneva or Forum per la Finanza Sostenibile include all aspects mentioned above.
