Resolution Capital seeks to invest with companies where management have industry best practices. On the governance side, we always lobby for improved disclosure from companies. We view our client’s capital as investment capital for these management teams, and we require them to approach us as capital partners with good disclosure. Good corporate and reasonable executive compensation are part of our effort to ensure an appropriate alignment of interest between management and our investment capital.

We also engage in environmental and social issues. We believe it makes good long-term business sense to have environmentally efficient buildings which will attract and retain tenants. We also believe it makes good business sense to attract and retain talented staff.

Engagement is undertaken by the Analyst or Portfolio Manager that is responsible for the stock and will be escalated to a senior member if unsatisfactory responses are received. Engagement will occur at least 6 monthly or in response to events that may arise in the interim. We offer feedback on ESG issues during our meetings with companies, and seek to address areas that have prevented them from inclusion in our portfolio or caused them to be sold.
