Ardian began its investment activities with its first European direct buyout fund in 1997 and expanded to fund of funds in 1999. Co-investment, Infrastructure and Private Debt platforms were formed in the mid-2000s. Ardian Real Estate was launched in September 2015 and the last activity, Ardian Direct US, was launched in October 2016.
The founding of the fifth pillar, Real Estate, is a natural progression as Ardian continues to evolve and develop. It will not only strengthen and diversify the offering for Ardian’s clients, but will also provide a substantial growth opportunity for the company.
The latest expansion, Ardian Mid Cap Buyout America, will give global investors further exposure to high quality investment opportunities in the North American region.
Today, our Fund of Funds team manages 1,300 funds and our Direct Funds activities have more than 130 portfolio companies.
Ardian is an employee-controlled company: 80% of Ardian employees are shareholders of the company, with a total of 55% of its capital.
