IFD 07. Tracking microfinance investees portfolio

Possible action:

Develop and extend the range of financial services available to low-income populations. Extensions could include savings, loans, insurance, payment services, remittance facilities and pension plans.

07.1. Indicate if you track the percentage of your microfinance investees' portfolio that is in microenterprise loans.

07.2. Indicate if you track the percentage of your microfinance investees’ portfolio that is in loans for immediate household needs (i.e. consumer loans).

 We do gather data of our portfolio MFIs that offer insurance products. In addition, ACTIAM Impact Investing supports MFIs in India and Kenya to cooperate with insurance companies and to offer health insurance to their clients through a program called FINISH.

We encourage MFIs to provide full financial services to their clients, based on the needs of clients in a specific region. We do gather data of our portfolio MFIs that offer other financial products.

We encourage MFIs to provide complementary non-financial services to the financial services they offer to their clients, based on the needs of clients in a specific region. We do gather data of our portfolio MFIs that offer other financial products. This includes for example enterprise skill development or basic medical care.

Possible action:

Encourage providers to introduce innovative products tailored to needs of low-income clients.

There is no specific Technical Assistance budget for investments made through the ACTIAM Institutional Microfinance Funds nor the ACTIAM-FMO SME Finance Fund. In our SME proposition our investment manager FMO takes cares of this in order to reduce ESG risks as much as possible.
