A US based labour union had circulated a letter to Limited Partners about a General Partner (manager) raising governance issues with the manager’s business/investing activities.
Upon further investigation, the allegations made in the letter were found to be without merit. The manager continues to adhere to high standards of ethics and integrity. The GP engaged in a dialogue with the labour union to assure their concerns were addressed and satisfied.
OPTrust became aware of a potential union certification involving a fund’s portfolio company
OPTrust engaged with the manager to understand their approach to organized labour and state OPTrust’s position. Further, we asked the manager to keep us updated on developments.
The union was certified and the manager kept OPTrust abreast of the process. Engaging with the manager has strengthened the relationship and provided us with confidence in their approach to labour issues as it relates to ESG.
