PE 07. Incorporating ESG issues when selecting investments

07.1. During due-diligence indicate if your organisation typically incorporates ESG issues when selecting private equity investments.

Prior to make an investment in a company, the investment analyst will perform a ESG case study and survey with the company. The investment analyst who is in charge of the project will need to perform a quarterly review on the ESG survey and report the finding to the Investment Committee.

8.1. Indicate what type of ESG information your organisation typically considers during your private equity investment selection process.

8.2. Describe how this information is reported to, considered and documented by the Investment Committee or similar.

The management of our ESG policy includes the pre & post investment major guidelines.


On the Pre-Investment, we implement the following:

–  Include the ESG factors into our due diligence metrics.

–  Incorporate ESG considerations in our analytical templates.

–  Write up ESG commentary in investment committee papers.


On the Post-Investment, we implement the following:

–  When possible, we continue to monitor ESG in the company’s operation with quarterly report monitoring checklist.

–  Whenever possible, we encourage the management team to enhance their approach to ESG while improving their operation and financial areas to meet their goals.

–  Work constructively with the management team to express our view should we see areas that the company is violating any of the ESG principle which can harm the business.
