Zurich is a member of the Environmental and Social Themed Investing (E&S) Steering Committee and, in 2016, was a member of  the Fixed Income Engagement Sub-Committee.

Zurich reports annually through the CDP Climate Change questionnaire and participates in some of CDP's conference/webinar offerings.

Zurich participated in the CFA Institute's practice analysis panel on responsible investment, a process to determine appropriate content on responsible investment practices in the future CFA curriculum.

Zurich is an active member of the Global Impact Investing Network's (GIIN) Investors' Council.

Zurich is participating in the United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) 'Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System' as a representative of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment's 'Swiss Team' initiative, which presented its findings in summer 2016.

Zurich is committed to the United Nations Global Compact’s principles, enacts these principles within its sphere of influence, and regularly communicates on our progress.

Zurich is a founding member of the Investment Leaders Group (ILG), a group of 11 institutional investors convened by the University of Cambridge's Institute for Sustainability Leadership to research and encourage responsible investing.

In 2016, Zurich’s responsible investment policy advocacy efforts were  focused mainly on topics related to disclosure and transparency, as well as the green bond market. These efforts included providing detailed input into various relevant consultations by the European Commission as well as direct interaction with relevant policy makers in both group and bilateral settings.
