Alken views communication and engagement between companies and investors as a positive and fruitful activity that is an indispensable part of its management role as it ensures that Alken can enhance and protect its client´s investment. This engagement is taken on a reasoned and realistic basis which recognises that not all companies conform to a single structure and as such their approach to issues will vary according to their philosophy.

Alken will look to develop a greater understanding of corporate strategies and will, where necessary, seek changes that will either protect or enhance the value of its investments. Alken will use its detailed research and sector knowledge to form a balanced view of each company and the issues it faces to ensure that risks are properly identified.

Alken will focus on each company´s ambition and ability to create sustainable value and may question or challenge companies about any governance issues that it perceives may affect the future value of those companies.
