Our Investment Code sets out our stance and Working Principles, as well as the management commitment to support and resource its implementation. We do not have a separate ‘Responsible Investment Policy’- our Investment Code stands for the way we do business in all our investment undertakings.

The importance of taking ESG matters into consideration, and of adhering to the Palatine pre and post-deal processes for managing ESG risks and opportunities, is understood and talked about by the Partners, the Investment Team and the wider team in everyday business. It is included in induction for new members of the team.

The Palatine team understands that having a reputation for rigour and expertise in proactively managing ESG matters in our portfolio is now part of the Palatine brand, and everyone has a responsibility to reinforce and uphold that reputation.

Our BVCA RI Awards are prominently displayed in our offices as both a reward for past efforts and an ongoing reminder of the importance of Responsible Investment to our business.

To aid understanding of what Responsible Investment and ESG management mean in practice we retain our Investment Manual as a reference guide for staff, and this is supplemented by coaching and updates from our in-house RI Ambassador, with periodic inputs from external expert advisors.

Our role as signatory to the PRI and in promoting the business case and benefits of Responsible Investment gives further prominence of RI within our business and provides useful feedback loops into our understanding and practice.
